Horizons

Tread softly

As the night sky first turns pale.

Watch each star fade in heavenly flood

Watch light soak dawn like rain in the mud.

Breath deeply

As the sun has not yet struck your world

Feel its pressure looming near

Taking all the time it should

Completely patience, no rush of fear.

Listen closely

To the silence just before the daybreak

Let it fill your mind and cleanse your soul

Let it heal your loss and heartache

Make fire from your inner coal.

Look deeply

At the color of the heavens

At this moment that seems so bleak

Love the grasp of present moment

Forget all you want and seek.

Think slowly

When that golden line first borders the Earth

Storing in your heart and mind

The memory lost in the next one’s birth.
